Ikemen Ramen Bar

Ikemen means “good looking man” or “good noodle” in Japanese. The logomark was based on toppings that is commonly found on ramen bowl. Food is considered a form of art in Japan, culinary finesse is a prerequisite for making ramen. The logotype is based on the type of curtain used at the entrance of ramen restaurants. Such curtains have been recognized as a symbol for ramen shops since time immemorial, reminding customers of the heritage of the dish and the skill involved in making it. In addition, woodblock art-inspired typography is used to further emphasize Ikemen’s connection to Japanese culture.
